Flowers, flowers and more flowers – NYBG Plein-Air Invitational

When Spring arrives, it seems, all I want to do is draw and paint flowers. So I am doubly excited to be an invited guest artist to the New York Botanical Garden‘s 4th Annual Plain-Air Invitational, this Saturday May 4th, hosted by James Gurney!

I’ll be out there working with 15 other artists, drawing and painting the Lilac Collection, Peonies, Daffodils, and so many other wonderful explosions of spring in the NorthEast. Come on out to the gardens and say hello, if you’ll be in the area. I’ll be posting my work from the day here and on my in-progress gallery site, Veronica Lawlor Gallery. To get things going, I’m posting a few drawings I did of cherry blossoms in the last few days – the blooming cherry trees in the center of our courtyard at Dunolly Gardens in Jackson Heights is a yearly highlight for me.

Hope to see you at the gardens! More info HERE, and a nice article about the event HERE.
